Rhododendron Carmen
Rhododendron Carmen. A dwarf evergreen hybrid with small, dark green leaves. Loose clusters of bell-shaped, waxy dark red coloured flowers in spring. Max Height 1m. Max Spread 1.2m. Flowers April to May. Looks particularly great in borders and rock garden settings.

Plant in moist acidic well drained soil. Full sun, hardy. Provide a deep winter mulch for added protection.
General Rhododendron Planting and care
- Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
- Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding a bucketful of planting compost.
- Remove the pot, if the Rhododendron is well rooted cut off the pot.
- Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
- Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the Rhododendron and area thoroughly
- Water regular until Rhododendron is established.
- Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
